Manchester United winger Anthony promised to achieve more in a candid post on social networks today.
Anthony became a record holder in the history of the Eredivisie when he moved to United on a deal with Ajax for 95 million euros a day before the transfer deadline last summer.
And although his number of goals was decent for the Red Devils — five in 19 games — the lack of assists and a series of weak performances led to the fact that he faced growing criticism from fans and experts.
Judging by his tweet today, Anthony may be the worst critic of himself and has promised to improve.
“An important week for us!!” he began.
“I strive to develop in order to do my best for the team! I have always dreamed of being here, and I will give everything I have to honor this club, because together we are stronger!”

After the Brazilian was replaced ahead of schedule in all but one of his starts after the World Cup, the Brazilian is under increasing pressure to keep his place in the starting lineup.
Jaydon Sancho has returned to training after a long absence, and academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho is persistently knocking on Eric ten Haga’s door to start more games.
Facundo Pellistri may also be ready to answer the challenge on the right flank, and there is still a chance that the ambitious Amad Diallo will be recalled early from loan at Sunderland, although this now looks unlikely.
Ten Hug was so determined to get Anthony, who was his manager at Ajax, that he must have seen abilities that had not yet been shown in a United shirt.
The player’s comments are an encouraging sign that he is determined to repay that faith at the earliest opportunity.
