Anatel: The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) published this Tuesday (23) the ratification of the result of the auction of frequencies that determined the distribution of the 5G signal in Brazil.
With the publication of Judgment No. 381/2021, the bidding phase is definitively closed, with no opening for appeals or challenges – except for frequencies that did not receive offers and will be auctioned again at a future date.
In addition, the companies that won the bid were invited to sign authorization documents to offer mobile internet services in the category and initiate payment for the so-called Authorization for the Use of Radiofrequencies.
The companies involved must present the guarantees of performance of commitments and pay the first installment or the single amount within 30 days. Depending on the grant period, the total can be paid in up to 20 years.
Held between the 4th and 5th of November this year, the auction moved R$ 47.2 billion and involved the distribution of almost all available lots in the frequencies of 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz.
The division involved both traditional and large operators and new or regionally focused companies. Check here which were the winning companies and their respective tracks.
