Alec Baldwin and Rust gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed have been formally charged. The two were charged with two counts of manslaughter following the death of cinematographer Galina Hutchins after a rifle misfire.
On Tuesday, January 31, the First District Court of New Mexico filed formal charges against the two, and the judge will decide whether to move the cast forward or not, after a preliminary hearing, The New York Times reports.
Official court documents say prosecutors accused Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed of failing to comply with standard security protocol on set.
