ResetEra, one of the world’s largest gaming forums, has banned any mention of the Hogwarts Legacy because of Harry Potter author J. Rowling reported on anti-trans views.

The Legacy of Hogwarts, due out next month, has already witnessed how Warner Bros. Games tried to distance the studio from Rowling, and Heartstopper actor Sebastian Croft apologized after the news that he was supposed to voice two game characters in the game caused a widespread negative reaction.

After the announcement of the Hogwarts Legacy, ResetEra banned all advertising activities of the game in 2021, including ads, trailers and general hype.

It has now been confirmed that ResetEra, the “premier online video game forum” with over 50,000 members, will expand this ban to cover all mentions of the “Hogwarts Legacy.”

In a statement released by the general manager of ResetEra B-Dubs on behalf of the moderator team, it says: “After an ongoing internal discussion, we began to outline the problems put forward by Rowling and the game in question, and every time we discussed all this, we constantly returned to the simple fact that Rowling is not only a fan, but also actively promotes in her position as a rich and famous person a law that will harm transgender people.

“That she is using the influence and money gained from her success with Harry Potter to promote transphobic legislation. Therefore, the mod development team decided to expand our previous ban on advertising the Hogwarts game by including the game itself,” he continued. Comments on the ad have been disabled.

The scandalous Harry Potter game is due to be released on February 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Playstation 4 and Xbox One version will be released on April 4, and Nintendo Switch players will have to wait until July 25.

However, many players are boycotting the game in protest against the repeated antitrance comments of the author of “Harry Potter” J. K. Rowling.

The leading actors of Harry Potter (Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson) were among those who condemned her views.

According to the frequently asked questions, “The Legacy of Hogwarts” was not written by Rowling, although it remains true to her “original vision.”
