Mercedes made a preliminary promotion of the new luxury model 2021 model Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 before the Geneva Motor Show. The German automaker also explained the technical details of the sporty SUV that promised high performance.
2021 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 is getting ready to come to light at the Geneva Motor Show after the introduction of the regular GLA-Class. Mercedes introduced its new SUV car with the world’s most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine and gave some information about the vehicle’s technical characteristics.
The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 features a 2.0-liter turbocharged and four-cylinder engine under the hood, called the company’s M139 code. The automotive giant previously used this engine on models like the A45 and CLA 45, and this power unit will produce 387 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque in the new car. The performance version of the vehicle will increase this power output up to 421 horsepower with its 8-speed dual clutch transmission.
Mercedes-AMG, GLA 45 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds. The German manufacturer electronically limited the car’s top speed to 249 km / h. For those who want to take full advantage of the vehicle’s performance, there is the Race-Start mode, which makes partial ignition interruption and promises higher performance in gear changes.
The GLA 45 also features a revised suspension geometry that reduces torque steering. Adaptive dampers offer three modes to customize to your driving taste. Mercedes also increased the front weight by placing an aluminum plate just under the engine to increase road holding.
Mercedes preferred 4-piston brake calipers with standard 13.8-inch brake discs on the front wheels to restrain the vehicle’s power. The rear wheels feature 13-inch discs and single-piston calipers. The optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package replaces the front parts with 6-piston calipers and 14.2-inch discs.
The GLA 45 comes with vertical grilles and standard LED headlights in the front design. Sharp fender fenders give the car a more powerful look. The 19-inch wheels that come as standard can be up to 21 inches on request. On the back is a revised bumper with a larger roof spoiler and two 3.2-inch tailpipes.
Finally, the interior of the car has front seats with larger supports. If these seats are not enough for high performance rides, they can be replaced with AMG Performance seats. The center console is designed in piano black and the steering wheel is nappa leather covered.
